The misconception between science and religion

If we look at our present human society, we will see, some of us are finding the proofs of the existence of God everywhere. They spot pieces of evidence to make their decision (to support their decision) – God does exist.

Similarly, on the other hand, some of us are finding the proofs of the nonexistence of God everywhere. In the same way, they spot pieces of evidence to make their decision ( to support their decision) – God doesn’t exist.

Interestingly, everybody thinks and also practice that they have the right to express their opinions (beliefs) to others. Undoubtedly it creates chaos. Because most of them are not careful, to show kindness to others opinions/beliefs whenever they discuss their personal opinions. So, the audiences with a low tolerance level response with criticism, sometimes badly or crucially, even sometimes by making fun of it.

Other than that, a debate to prove the existence or nonexistence of a god is a subject to discuss, which is pretty much lively.

It is needed to mention, our beliefs in god and not-believing beliefs in god work such a way that it influences our observations. The observations can be called picky-sampling. Where we only pick the particular sample which can lead to prove our beliefs. After a while, we arrange an abstract mind map which shows that our prospection is correct.

And, then we bring science into the issue to fit in. We consider that science can prove or disprove the existence of God. But bringing in science, to prove or disprove the existence of God is a brilliant foolish thing to do.

Because science doesn’t care – there is a God or not. It is not a matter of science. Even, it can not be related to science at all. The reason is – the science is not a piece of knowledge, science is a process to analyze our observations where evidence and calculations are must be required.

Besides, ‘believing in god’ or ‘believing in no god’ does not contain any evidence and calculation (both together called scientific evidence) which can excel the issue to process using science (which called scientific method). It means there is no relation between God and Science or there is no interconnection between this twos. The nonrelevant interconnection makes the relation invalid.

But, yet whether God exists remains a philosophical question. Perhaps not surprisingly, philosophy deals with the human mind, which manages – whether to believe and whether not to believe. Philosophy is a living being’s thing, not universal as like science.

But still, somehow we think, science is a way to prove the existence of God or disprove the existence of God. This conception inserted among us by many historical figures and famous intellectual persons. The reason is – they had misconceptions about the relation between religion, science, and philosophy. Sometimes they found interconnection between those threes, sometimes found no connection. As a result, we have divided into many groups, as like the following popularly known statements. Those described the relationship between science and religion.

"Science gives man knowledge which is power, religion gives man wisdom which is control. Science deals mainly with facts, religion deals with values. The two are not rivals (competitors). They are complementary (harmonizing/supportive)."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
American Civil Rights Activist and Baptist Minister (1929-1968)
"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
Albert Einstein
Theoretical Physicist (1879 - 1955)
"The clash between science and religion has not shown that religion is false and science is true. It has shown that all systems of definition are relative to various purposes, and that none of them actually ‘grasp’ reality."
Alan Watt
British-American Philosopher (1915 - 1973)
"There is a fundamental difference between religion, which is based on authority, and science, which is based on observation and reason. Science will win because it works."
Stephen Hawking
Author and Theoretical Physicist (1942 - 2018)

Have they correctly explained the relationship between religion and science? Or wrong? And, how can be they wrong? They are known as the greatest mind of the humankind. The answer is – none of them completely wrong, not even completely right. They only shared their personal opinion about the real relationship between science and religion.

In science, personal opinion has no acceptance either.
